The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (FEB UNY), in collaboration with the Financial Services Authority (OJK), held a public lecture titled “Young Generation and Good Governance: The Foundation of a Clean and Accountable Financial Services Sector” on Wednesday, 10 December 2025. The event took place in a hybrid format at the PMD FEB UNY Theater Room and was attended by more than 400 participants, including 200 on-site and 200 online from UNY and various universities across Indonesia.
The public lecture presented Sophia Wattimena, Chair of the Audit Board and Member of the OJK Board of Commissioners, as the keynote speaker. The sharing session featured Djonieri, Deputy Commissioner of Internal Audit, Risk Management, and Quality Control; Siswani Wisudati, Head of Integrity Enforcement and Special Audit Department; and Eko Yunianto, Head of OJK DIY. The session was moderated by Prof. Dr. Ratna Candra Sari, M.Si., Ak., C.A., Professor of FEB UNY. The event was also attended by Hidayat Prabowo, Head of OJK Central Java Province; Dr. Sutirman, Dean of FEB UNY; and Prof. Dr. Lantip Diat Prasojo, UNY Vice Rector for Finance.
In her remarks, Sophia Wattimena emphasized OJK’s continuous efforts to strengthen good governance as a core value of integrity to support the stability of the financial services sector. She explained that the event was part of OJK’s activities commemorating the 2025 International Anti-Corruption Day (Hakordia). Sophia highlighted that fraud risks in the financial sector continue to grow in complexity alongside technological advancements.
To address these challenges, Sophia explained OJK’s measures in reinforcing internal defenses by implementing the ISO 37001 Anti-Bribery Management System (ABMS) and strengthening the anti-fraud strategy built on four pillars: Assessment, Prevention, Detection, and Response. She underlined that the broad mandate entrusted to OJK requires integrity to be upheld consistently, not only through administrative compliance but also through ethical conduct in daily responsibilities.
Sophia encouraged students to play an active role in promoting an anti-corruption culture by practicing integrity in campus life. She cited simple examples such as avoiding cheating, refraining from manipulating activity proposals, and reporting misconduct by utilizing OJK’s Whistleblowing System (WBS). According to her, youth participation is essential in building a cleaner and more accountable financial services ecosystem.
Meanwhile, UNY Vice Rector for Finance, Prof. Lantip Diat Prasojo, expressed his appreciation for OJK’s initiative to hold the public lecture at UNY. He stated that the session provided important insights for students about the role of OJK as a regulator and the significance of good governance in maintaining public trust in financial services. Lantip hoped that students would become more aware of risks associated with illegal financial products.
This collaboration between OJK and FEB UNY aligns with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 4 (Quality Education) through improved financial literacy, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through promoting governance and anti-corruption values, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through strengthening institutional cooperation to build a transparent and accountable financial services sector.
